Hi guys,

Wondering if I could have some advice?

Planning family holiday for a week in August with wife and two young ones.
Family chasing good quality accommodation, with services.
I'm chasing surf and some down the line kiting!!

Any tips on where to stay and if north or south stradbroke would be better??

Never been to either straddie islands and never heard of crew kiting there (seen all the surf on offer of course).

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
cheers
wes

Yeah I agree with prea.North Straddie is the go.
I have spent alot of time on both North and South Straddie but only for surfing(didnt kite back then)
North has more to see and do if its not windy, which is good if ya with the misses and kids.I have always been keen to find out if you can kite North Straddie in a Westerlie on the flat side??????Let us know how you go.
cheers

Ps.... just keep an eye out for the bull sharks, seen sharks everytime i have been there, stayed in the water though, they were never a threat.

hey there, go to north straddie , heaps of great setups to kite if good wind, if blowing north n/e n/w, can kite surf beaches cylinder, deadmans, home beach adder rock or flinders all have nice flat little gutters to play in and waves out back, if blowing from south or s/e go to point lookout 5 mins away and kite main beach will get good size swell here too, wind could be a bit sus in august though as usually still have a westerly wind pattern or no wind at all, dolphin real estate website for good quality accom on island, hope this helps and you get some good wind if not you will still have a great time there, cheers rob s 4160
