Start work on thursday for the rest of my life...am I doomed to surfing these forums all day and hoping for a little bit of wind on the weekends?
Should I quit before I start and apply for the dole?

Whatever you do don't start a job that you can't knock off at lunch time or 15 knots, whichever comes first!

Welcome to the real world!!!

It's not so bad you've just got to plan as best you can from the forecast.......work late when you don't expect there to be wind and leave early when it's going to be great. That's what Flexi time was invented for!

Good luck with your job.

Or do like me: get written down on your contract that you can take off if it's on!!!
Who's supporting me for a huge strike -not sure against who tho!- so they don't remove day light saving???
I'm already freaking out about it now!!!

I vote not job at all but unfortunately can't live on nothing, got to keep the wolves at bay and haven't yet found a man rich enough who's happy for me to stay home, kite and keep house!!! If I do I'll even learn how to cook properly and that's saying something!!

End of daylight savings.......ooooohhhh no thanks........don't think about it Em it's all very depressing.

How about we build a hippie camp on the beach, under a big tent , we all quit our jobs and just kitesurf ever after?
We will grow our own veggies, go fishing and live of wind, fresh and salty water and everlasting love and life will be heavenly!
(Caelah: "keep house"???? whats wrong with you girl???? ;-) Join me in the love tent and leave the dishes to the boys! (Gosh, I really need to get you back on track hey, see what happens when you don't hang around with me for too long!!! :-P))
Working is so overrated!!!(who cares about earning money if it takes on your kitesurfing time???)
Who needs a car any way? -if its windy, we just go there kiting!- Who needs a roof? -when you can have a tent full of mates?- who needs money? -but to buy kites... hm, we will get few of the importers joining the rainbow camp and problem sorted... ;-) -
See? Now we can all quit our jobs and kitesurf for ever!!!!!
- can someone work on the everlasting summer tho? Haven't managed to get a hold of God to work that one out...-

Find a job where you have some flexability in the hours you work. I'm meant to do 40hrs/week, but I can do 9hrs one day then only 7hrs the next, and come to work earlier that day so I can be out by say 3pm. Or alternatively in winter I've gone for a morning kite and rocked up to work at 10am. Daylight savings is pretty gold for us working kiters too.

The hippie life could be good, but unfortunately the kiting bug tends to attract the must-have-latest-kite-gear bug, which eats holes in your wallet

It shouldn't be too bad I suppose. I'll be in the office for a month doing the 9-5 thing, then will be doing the 3 weeks away, 1 week back thing.
I want to go back to uni! Maybe I'll do arts or something...

If u are great at planning, organized, and can manage time...

...Teacher 730ish-3ish... sat and sun are free time If daylight savings comes into play, 1 hour more kiting time in the arvy, and if living at the coast, a 2 hour surf before work is a necessity That's my plan at least...

Hey Dan, good move. Engineering in Perth is Cruisy as. Who you going to work for??? Its a good time to start and get some experience under your belt. And yes, new kites cooooooo-el.

The good thing about it is that although its work, you can go anywhere. (but why would you want to??)
