I arrive at the beach wind is almost straight onshore. its blasting at 28 knots.

I reach for my 36" strapless directional. its my favourite board.

no need for a harness i'm unhooked!

I fire up a 1.5m foil kite... can't be bothered pumping... this will do. I proceed to blast back and forth carving up a storm sooooo smooth deep carves heaps of power and speed.

The wind is punchy the kite hunts through the gusts and my arms are wearing out fast. But i don't care damn its fun. one more run.. carve hard, the board starts to drift, snap it back ahhh.. so smooth.

I've goto be carefull not to drop the kite. i'm overflying houses, trees, lamp posts, roads and traintracks. Theres zero room for error. 1m behind me is a boulder bank and 1m downwind is a fence and train tracks. hope no trains are coming??? but i have a slither room to kite on.. and the surface is sooo smooth its worth the risk to kite here.

In fact its so smooth its like concrete. Not a ripple in sight. more carving, man i could do this all day.

Theres a reason it feels like concrete... Thats because it is concrete. I'm longboard kite skating on the foreshore walk way.

oh yeah! sooooo much fun.

So boys if you feel like a different kiting experience. grab yourself a longboard and a 1.5m trainer kite and slice up some concrete. its supremely smooth. yourl get traction for an easy cruise in 10-15 knots and 25-30 knots it will be exciting indeed!

yeah... thats all part of it. human slalom. its all good. yourve got to be prepaired to sacrifice yourself and kite so as not to injure others.

ps it was 8.30 at night so most of the human slalom cones had gone home.

Yeah do the same at the local park down the bottom of town, a few different smooth paths on the longboard - great fun on the 2m. Take it out onto the hotmix when not many cars about - just got to watch the street lights...
