just wondering where everybody think would be a prime location for the '07' Youngblood Camp ?

ideal helpfuls;
warm - no wettie weather
no stingers or nasties in the water
flat water as well as choppy and waves

not being picky just wondering what you all personally think would be the best location to train up the hottest young aussie kiters.

thanks,

JL

Tannum would be nice, nice and close for me .

I think it would be awesome on an island !!

Goldie too, mixture of flat water, waves and the normal chop.

Everyone was from QLD? Sounds like a bloody good reason to have it elsewhere.

where would you suggest brooksy ? I think it would be good to have in QLD cos most groms are from here so it wont be too far to travel. just my opinion though.

why would WA groms pay around 1000 to go for a week of kiting when they live in perth?
especially as we got like 3 weeks warning of it happening and there are better options for spending that money later in the season

Hey JL,

Depending on the time of year.. I hate to say this but Perth may be just what you're looking for.

And I hate to say this even more but you really can't go past Woodies. 3 beaches - offshore flat water (and I mean buttery smooth!), side shore with good 0.5-1m consistent swell/chop coming thru and onshore with heaps of chop. All that being said it makes it exy for east coasters but the westies never get a chance for things like this.

Other spots - Rottnest Island, Lancelin ( both spots have waves and flat water). You could easily do day trips to Margaret River from Perth.

Plus how's 24degC water, 30+degC air temp and consistent 20+ knot seabreezes sound? And pretty much no stingers, biters or swimmers. And if you're careful the windsurfers don't mind sharing too much.

Maybe offer some sponsorship or help for the WA groms to get across if it's on the east coast. I can think of quite a few that would go if they could afford it. Perhaps sponsorship could be offered based on location rather than skill - just like a scholarship at most uni's?

I understand you want it close for the majority, makes sense. Also I would suggest most groms do not come from QLD - but we won't ever really know that answer.

Thanks brooksy, Woodies sounds ever so tempting, long way from home though.

I can see what youre saying;
East Coast good for the qld & nsw groms but no so good for WA riders.
West Coast, good for WA riders but no so good for the East Coast riders. difficult situation.

As the topic "Suggested Youngblood '07' Camp locations" suggests I am only wondering where the youth of the nation think would be a great location. I am not any part of the organisation behind the camp.

thanks,

JL

Seems fairly obvious to have two events a week apart one in OLD one in WA.
That would work for all and it would be cheaper to fly the instructors around.
