I have to be in Townsville on Monday and want to kite on Sunday. Are the beached close to Townsville like Pallarenda ok or is it realy worth the trip to Alva?

yeah pallarenda is ok, real choppy and wavy but its close to town, so its where most people go. Alva is epic and well worth the 1.5 hour trip south if you know there is going to be wind.
