If Councils amalgamate, what will it mean for kiting?

1. Noosa Council may cease introducing new legislation and leave the kites at the rivermouth alone.

2. If a combined council, does try in future to ban kiting at the rivermouth, Caloundra is likely to be caught up in it as well.

3. We may now need a combined voice (Noosa/Maroochy/Caloundra) to negotiate with a new amalgamated council.

I don't think Caloundra has much to worry about. The local councillor at Happy Valley is very pro-kiting and would never let that kind of ban happen. Caloundra's kitesurfing future looks very rosy.

The less we talk about it in this forum the better. Council movers and shakers do read these forums and we don't want to put any ideas into their heads nor create any animosity.

Noosa's recent turmoil is isolated to Noosa's unique circumstances and were instigated by a part of the community who are not present in Caloundra or Maroochydore. Three cheers to the crew who worked hard to get kitesurfing voices heard by the authorities at Noosa.

We have a voice on the Sunshine Coast who are there when we need them.....AKSA, and individual groups like Caloundra KSC and Sunny Coast KSC.
