yes, great surf, super friendly. Scotland too.

most people who have been to Ireland know there's surf there. It's just not normally that large! But as for the gulf steam, never met anyone it who thinks it warm.

Not only is there surf but there is also palm trees so you can feel like you are somewhere tropical (when it is not snowing).
