Can understand kites with surfboards in waves.

But, c'mon flock, is it any fun in 6 inches of Perth seabreeze slop?

Its a hell of a lot more fun than surfing 6 inch slop....
Floaters, arials, re-entry to reverse, and a lot of other cool little moves can be learnt without having to have much of a wave and you dont wreck your kite.
Hope yo dont get too many angry little men telling you how good it is, fact is its crap but beggars cant be choosers in Perth.

Yeah, but that's the point. Took up kiting because sick of surfing inch surf slop. Now everyone kiting thinks it cool to kite 6 inch slop with a surfboard.

Sheep?

Hey Trevor1,

I'm just curious, why it is that what anyone else does, has such a profound impact on you, enough even to post a topic about your outrage

Whatever happened to just admiring the diversity of human endeavour wih people being able to take great pleasure from something that obviously leaves you quite cold? Thats cool!

Just ride the way you want and leave others to make their own choices. Actually, going against the most obvious choice is hardly a flock of sheep.

Rip it up black sheep!

Good winds,

no outrage - just posting on a forum.

pretty boring otherwise

thought I had a valid question, but obviously not

baaa

So Kitehard, not outraged at all as to the way you want to ride (and I ride a surfboard in waves, but no doubt not as well as you), but the question remains ....:

- do you have as much fun kiting a surfboard in 6inch sh!t as what you used to dangling with your twintip?

I am just interested in what people think (given this is a forum), and will cast no dispersions on the answer

Silviu,

read the thread before you post.

You will see where I said I do use a surfboard in the waves.

What is it with everyone being so touchy? Its like I am being a racist!

The reason for my original post (and sure, I did put it in inflammatory terms to get some feedback), is that I felt like a sheep on Saturday when I did a downwinder with a surfboard when the surf was tiny, and afterwards thought maybe a I am being a sheep when the surf is this small by using a surfboard.

Afterall, I wouldn't go out in the river on a surfboard now would I?

hey Guys,

i have more and more the feeling that Kitresurfing is becomming a fact of "fashion"
Kitesurfing was, it is and should be a SPORT, and an enjoyable activity, and it doesn't matter if you have the latest equipment, gimmick or else, you enjoy it, disregarding the trends and fashion "requirements".
So, my two cents is: I am not riding for the "nuts gallery", (not that i have what to show them, I am not so "jumpy" anymore), but for my pleasure and enjoyment.
If the "nuts gallery" does not like my "performance" or my looks, BAD LUCK fellas', there are enough "starrs" to cheer out there.
So Trevor, if you enjoyed the 6 inches of seabreeze slop, what's the point to ask others?
That's my point

I know the real reason

Riding a surf board with a kite helps you believe you are almost as good as a Windsurfer

Yeah Baby Bring it on

Which is my point, do we ride surfboards in waves no bigger than what Kitecrazzy may get at Peli Pt when the ferry goes past because it is current fashion?

And by the way, on reflection, I don't think I did enjoy the 6 inches of slop.
