I was checking out this years Underground and noted that the foot strap setup is distinctly asymetric, i.e the board is setup for a heal side and a toe side.
Why then are the plan shapes symetrical if the foot straps are asymetric.

Why are twin-tips symmetrical ??
Because they're double-ender alien waveriding vehicles.
The balance between the two halves creates harmony and order.
The footstraps need to be positioned on the sweet-spots.

Not Symetrical as is one END is the same as the other!
Symetrical as in the toe side RAIL is the same plan shape as the heal side RAIL.

Bic (yes of pall point pen fame) made the airflow, an assymetrical board.
It was total ****. Nuff said.
