What a great community

I nose dived on landing of a jump a fair way out and lost the bar, heard the kite slap the water hard and the next thing it is gone into a death loop
1,2,3,4 loops and i ejected on to the flaging line.

2 mn later, a kiter shows up and offered to get my board back to the beach.
I greatfully accepted his offer and started to wind my lines on the bar to self rescue the kite.

Another kiter turns up and grab the kite by the tip and drag it back to the beach

It took me about 40mn swimming back to the beach at my cruisy pace(stoked i was wearing a wetty and the harness helped heaps ).

On at least 5 occasions kiters went past to make sure i was ok
Good karma, i owe my rescuers a beer and you can take me up on that at brighton anytime you please

PS the weird thing is that the kite is fine???? i thought i must have snapped a bridle or something but it was just twisted on the bladder real bad. I always pump my kite pretty hard so maybe i inflated too hard and created a slow lick.I will check that.

Sorry for the long story but i had to share it to thanks everyone involved and glad to be part of a great community who knows how to look after each over.

With a south west wind i would have probaly landed at Trigg point and i have probably overstated my swim, could have been 20mn, lol.
Anyway, that was actually a good experience, reminded me where the safety release is when i need it and confirmed that i will think about reaching for it when in trouble.

If I was there I would have dragged you in holding on to my harness, kite and board at the same time. But I`m just nice like that.

I've dragged a few people in where they have flagged their kite and are holding their board - it's a bit slow but easy for shorter length rescues.
