Hey
Just wanted to send a shout out to the great blokes that were kiting Brighton beach on Monday afternoon.
After stupidly getting too loose in the waves and hitting a marker buoy the 2 guys who were on the beach helped me out of the water once I managed to drag in. They were also kind enough to help me back to my car and got my gear safe. Here I am in sandy hospital overnight having had surgery on a broken ankle and leg. Sadly I was too sore to even ask their names so I could thank them properly so posting this to see if they are watching.
Thanks lads and get in touch so I can buy you a beer. Hope to see you back out there in a couple of months when I heal. Could have been much worse so grateful for that. Great session until that point!
Big shout out to Zac for finding my board down at green point after scouring the bay and the awesome staff at sandy hospital.
Guess it happens and it is good to know that we all look out for one another.

lucky you got your board back. Zac is renowned for hanging out down at green point looking for free gear. He is often seen wading the reef in budgie smugglers looking for surfboard fins.
Hope you have a swift recovery mate.

Good to hear you made it in and are on the road to recovery.

I've always been interested, were you wearing a wetsuit? Did the hospital have to cut it off or did you manage to wiggle out of it?

If he wasn't wearing a wetsuit in this temperature his balls are probably so big he had the surgery without an anaesthetic

If he wasn't wearing a wetsuit I would say they would be pretty small..........."spanner water". Tightens the nuts

Really good to know when things go wrong, cause they do, that the kiting community has some good samaritans... Paying it forward people, that's my motto!

Yup. Cut out. Have always worn budgies underneath since the ambos cut someone out on the beach a few years ago. Nobody needs to endure that agony on top of the pain of the injury.

Hey Matt,

Glad we were there to help. I don't think we realised how serious your injury was. Make a full recovery mate and see you on the water.

Regards

James

PS awesome job Zac !
