A nice typical slagging post from you as usual, nothing positive or on topic to contribute as usual.

Calling a person you don't know an asshole, who lives in another country, who has done nothing to you other than ridicule your ridiculous, impractical, imaginary teaching method and pompous arrogant obsessive posting style, could define you as an asshole, so be careful of what you say sweet one!

Hi there,
I only want to set some things on the right path!
Steve, I always respected and valued your contribution to the overall Kitesurfing and kiting movement in Australia.
The fact that you are one of the sponsors of this site is a great support as well.
However, having this responsibility on your shoulders it means that you also have to give some example, to act as a moderator or in other words, to refrain in getting dragged in discussions like ones above.
And definitely to avoid the use of direct "aggressivity" towards other users of the forum.
I know, sometime it is very frustrating, but we have to refrain.
Sorry to get involved and to start "preaching", but again, in my respect and appreciation to you I feel that I have to raise this issue.

Hey Bigmac like I said tried the bows , they just did not do it for me.I need that adrenlin rush that a c kite gives me.

Currently very happy with my quiver of 06 c kites, maybe when they get rid of those bridles and come up with a much better way to self launch a bow, I might get one.

As for my mate steve at kitepower , I dont think I will buy kites from him as we really dont agree on much, and the guy I get my kites from beats steve for price by as much 20 percent so I hope that answers all your questions Bigmac.

I moved inland, away from the coast. The winds inland south africa are nightmare gusty, fickle and sometimes dangerous, and to really enjoy those conditions, a bow is a huge positive. Unless you are absolute pro level, being able to pull off tricks in these conditions with a bow is way more easy than a C, so for 99% of kiters inland gusty, bows have given access to kiting comfort to allow people to attempt stuff, that they would not be able to do inland with a C.

ya ya ya edging etc, but if you have to spend 90% of your time edging to cope with the wind gusts, you never get to relax to think about the next trick, what you are doing wrong etc. bows defn have their place in locations with tricky wind conditions.

I totally agree!! New Zealand as you may allready know has hideously gusty conditions.. even on the coast and the bows are now to be honest not just a luxury but a necessity here. I love my waroo. The waroo is a SLE, not a pure bow but pretty damn close to it. since i bought my waroo my c kites have stayed in the bag. Gotta admit i have missed my 17 yarga on recent occasions... not because the wind was steady but because the wind was light.

Bow kites are selling like hotcakes over here and i'm predicting them to dominate the market over here with about 98% of kiters using them. In countries with good conditions (ie OZ, SA etc) i doubt they will make much of an impact but for the horrendous places (NZ etc) i'm predicting a virtual shutout of c kites from the market.

Give me a break Silviu
I also respect you because it is easy to tell you are very passionate about kiting, and you don't do it to "be cool" like some of the whiners i refer to below.
You should have seen this thread went sideways long ago. Its Ok to have fun with some of the pimps and aggressive types who have multiple forum usernames who try to - very lamely - knock Kitepower or me.
Its always the same ones making always similar negative and misleading posts, mixed in with ploys to try and get a reaction, sometimes its fun when I have the time to poke and prod them, hopefully you get as many laughs from their antics as we do. If not, don't read this cr@p ok?

Yes. Shame on me. Shame on me for highlighting the bleeding obvious.

I really must stop doing that, it's costing me so dearly, at this rate all my self respect will be spent... and then, when the purse is finally empty... there will be nought for me to do, but whore myself to the kite pimps.

I had the opportunity to inspect a couple of 12m Waroo's today. Definitely well made kites, and definitely a step in the right direction from the first and second generation bows (ala Crossbow, Nova, Switchblade, etc.).

Best have abstained from the nasty trouble prone cluttered bars of other SLE's, and the bridle is minimalistic. (Yes it still uses pulleys at the kite, so you should check these points for wear every session.)

Kites with big range de-power are a good thing in their place, just like everything, and the place I have in mind is Melbourne this winter. I'll keep my C's ready for the seabreezes in the coming spring/summer.

I'm very keen to demo the Waroo (esp' a 12 and 9). If you can put me in touch with someone in the Melbourne area, or know of someone doing a demo day, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

. Long live the Hellfish, glad I didn't back that old nag..
Let's play join the dots.

I would have to agree with azza , so far the best of the bows I have tried would have to be the best waroo.

Simply because the bar is very simple but effective, there is also minimal bar pressure and you can feel where the kite is in the air without having to look at the kite.

Build is solid and I also like the look of the kite in the air , very solid and stable.

The bows and sle I have flown are.
Crossbow
switchblade
assault liquid force
shockwave

And so far the waroo was the best for me.

For the record I am not pimping any brand nor do I own a kiteshop and I am not a teamrider, infact I dont even fly bow kites I still love my c kites.

Regards,

There’s seldom been saying as apt as “there is no such thing as free lunch” when it comes to the benefit/cost comparison inherent in the banana wing kite...

The boon of gust-a-bility measured against wisdom of going there:

A mixed blessing at best.

A modern C-kite in a steady breeze: The state of the art of fun.

A banana being the enabler for bad weather kiting, complete with the retinue of self defeating stoppers hard-loops, tangle-able bridles and twirling death drags, is in indeed a mix blessing.

A boon to retail interest, an extender of your flight time, not at all a bad thing, but one that comes with two price tags...

==================

Ridicule:

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Arthur Schopenhauer

Ridicule is the first and last argument of the fool; Used as a shield, but never a weapon.

One look at our jack-ass’s web site under lessons will bear out the wisdom contained above.

Fully assisted Water-time is now the featured hook, touted as the very best way to go.

Far be it from me to deprive oz of its chuckle-heads...

So, by all means,,,carry on!!

The Waroo is by far the most simplest and fun kite on the market today. Well worth the money.

Firstly im not ridiculing the cruisers out there, we do this sport for having fun and if they are are having fun then great. But ask yourself once the initial illation of staying up wind and doing little jumps is over, doing this over and over again day in day out does get a little boring.
The problem is these new bows dont breed good kiters and teach newbies bad habits, ie not being able to edge out gusts and bad stance, hence when they try new tricks that rely on board control and controlled power they cant do it.

Rather learning how to jump properbly with the board and kite they tend to go out over powered relying on the depowerability of the bow kite and just pull the bar in and up they go. This isnt how to jump. What happens if they get a tangle in the bridle and they cant depower their kite, the s**t is gunna hit the fan. At least witha fifth line you always know the safety is gunna work.

Granted bows definitely have their place espicially in gusty locations perhaps inland. Im sure i might consider swapping if i had to sail in thoses sort of conditions. But on second thoughts I would go the vegas 06. Ive tried it what an awesome kite you get massive depower if you need it, with out all the bow complications ie inverting, bridal tangles. Ive also heard great things about F-one tribal
