My bete noir, the reason for my angst, the one thing that bakes my noodle is, YELLOW ARROWS!
Now come on, we all know that the YELLOW ARROWS are just there to taunt us! I mean, 12 to 15 Knots is bloody hopeless for anybody who isn’t either flying a doona, riding a board the size of the Titanic or has the physical attributes of Kate Moss (in which case please PM me).
So I hereby propose that we KILL THE YELLOW ARROWS!!! Start the beautiful GREEN ARROWS at 18 Knots + and anything under 18 Knots is RED.
Imagine, no more poncing around trying to decide if the 10 – 15 Knott YELLOW is going to transform into beautiful and sublime GREEN, its either GREEN (its on) or RED (its off).
What I am advocating is less choice, I want less choice, fewer options, no deliberation.
Around my place, if its showing a decent yellow, its usually blowing around 18 knots here....... usually.........But i do agree have green for ITS AWWWN or red start praying!
no, keep the yellow arrows cause laurie is hopeless, when he gives us green arrows we get yellow wind, when he gives us a few days straight of yellow arrows, we get green wind, today he has given us red arrows and i just called the coast guard who said it's now 17kts.... i think laurie might be colour blind, or has a sick twisted no sense of humour....
Well since my computer is capable of displaying 32-bit colour (which if my maths is correct is 4,294,967,296 colours) why dont we use some of them to create some sort of complex gradient system. We can have the colour slowly change from red to green as the knots increase... Yay!
Similarly, we can do the same with the emoticons. Rather than have a happy man and a sad man, we can have about 15 in between where the smile turns to a frown pixel-by-pixel. Much more choice.
But seriously though, I agree with Junglist to a degree. I live by a rule of 3. I rate everything out of 3. Basically its either yes, maybe or no. I hate overcomplication. I like it the way it is. Except i wish the cut-offs were <15, 15-20, 20+. I wouldn't even wipe my bum with wind under 15 knots.
