Ok, after getting confident enough and finding the right life/impact vest, I decided to push the limits and go for 1 maybe 1.5 km off shore.
The amount of rubbish I saw in the water, blew my mind.
In a couple of days of kiting, I found the following:
-a toy truck made of plastic (whatever was left of it)
-a couple of plastic containers
-plastic bags
-a hat
Is this normal? What else did you see/find? Do you normally pick them up and toss them in the bin?
Well that would be NSW for you crowded and filthy, lot of people sucken on chubba chubbs
Last windsurf session i had, i came in with a KITE BOARD and no one was trawling for it OR interested in keeping the seen clean .
Funny enough There would have been 20 fag bags out at Point Moore
I tryed telling a few of them on the water it was just up wind, but kiters have a very poor understanding of the AUSTRALIAN LANGUAGE especially when it comes from some one on a windsurfer , so i plodded around collected the rubbish from the ocean and took it in.
I was going to bin it,but thought SOMEONES TRASH IS SOME ONES TREASURE
It was a twin tip and has ROXY stuff on it.
My car was on the beach and it was windy ,i did not want rubbish flying down the beach so i bent back my number plate stabbed and wedged it ,so the offending litterer could see it and claim it.
I went back sailing at the Gates and returned an hour later,
I looked for a note
a beer ,
a smoke
a thankyou ,
a name a phone number
a reward
NOTHING

but at least the rubbish was removed from the beach.
West coast there is a lot of fisherman / floats and ropes on the beaches my way Generally its ...... the oceans pritty clean
