Sorry to hear mate. It is one of those "edges" of life where humans are extremely pushing the boundaries. Just remember he/she would have had more fun in their life time than almost everyone else. That's all that matters in my opinion. Hopefully in the future, parachute technologies and jumping/packing techniques will make it a safer sport (but no less adrenaline rushing!!)
