Good winds,

Dear Kitehard,
Congratulations on the professionalism shown in regard to your Australian Kiteboarding School website.
Well done, keep up the excellent work.
However,
there is one little thing that I need to clarify.
Tip No.1 'Do not use a board leash'
Your beginners tip with regards to the above topic comes across to me as slightly ambiguous.
On one hand you're saying;
Do not use a board leash to connect yourself to your board,
especially not a surfboard leash etc etc.
And then on the other hand you're saying;
A simple metre long non-stretch leash can be used to connect your board after you have crashed,
to keep the board close to you whilst you are trying to relaunch your kite.
Once the kite is up, disconnect etc etc.
Well,
my problem with that advice is that during the relaunching process,
the rider could maybe get lofted and rag-dolled,
while attached to an out-of-control swinging meat-cleaver that's only 1 metre away !
Nasty.
Handy Tip by slave:
Never use a board leash.
Learn to body drag.
Regards,
waveslave.
(PS. The body drag is a fundamental kitesurfing move learnt very early in the teaching process.
If you can't body drag really well, you're not ready for board riding.)
