This story was inspired by a snowboarding show i was watching.
So you have just pulled off a move you have been working on for a while. Do you claim it? I mean, a short 'woo hoo', one hand in the air, showing your excitement and making a statement or do you just ride out of it, smooth as, like you've done it a thousand times????????

ride on

El out

if you claim it the people know you either just made it or have been working to get it for a while - better not to claim it cause then everyone thinks it's just another one of your day in day out standard tricks...

same thing with a barrell, how long does it have to be before you can claim it?

There are many types of claims. You do not have to claim with out the fist in the air. I never liked fist in the air, i hate it when the pros do it, it was just not the thing when i was a grommet.

Best is pull out your dick and scream your guts out unless the water is cold. Then you should just paddle back to the crew and stop everyone to ask "did you see that"

I reakon the hoot is the best, your right, it puts a big smile on everyones faces. Surfing(every wants to be super heros and legends) and kiting(every one wants to go big and loves to see others go big) are two different animals when you talk about to claim and not to claim. Claim if your kiting, stay cool if your surfin. Ones a top social sport the other activity can be a giant pain in the arse[}:)]

I think that the issue here is more complicated.
Is how do you feel, when after hard work, frustration and sweat, finally "you got it".
It gives you that feeling that you want to go and tell everybody, and if someone was there and notice, you already "claimed it".
And the real claim comes when others are interested, and come to ask you to show them and help them do it too.
In my opinion, something like that you don't claim, but it is claimed in your name, when it is recognised and adopted by others.
And there is nothing wrong with woohoo-ing!!!

if you do something worth it, something you really want, something you have desperatly tried to ride away from, or something youve been willing to put your body on the line for...

its not really a question you ask yourself, you just do it, ive done it even when im the only one out, it just should happen...

raise that arm in triumph!!

Isnt that the best. The best moves are the ones you do alone, for yourself.

Not that i do much except fk ups. Good at those.

but at least he usually has the common decency to do it by himself... at home... in the shed... under a tarp... with a torch... and a picture of Kylie... all alone, by himself, he plots more roundabouts!

I'll get a woo-hoo out of every session. Normally about the 45 minute mark
when every trhing just kind of sorts itself out and evereything seems good in the world. I'll hear a WOO-HOO and then realise it was me. nothin' better than that.

Then I slunk away to the phone & claimed it all round Aust.

stand by for the sequel:

December 13th... The day Puppet returned the un-returnable.

and the prequel:

December 11th... The day Puppet checked the un-checkable.

and the follow-up to the sequel after the prequel but not before the original:

December 14th... The Puppet memoirs (The day Puppet wrote the un-writable.)
