Today at work a collegue and I scanned a 9 yr old girls brain as she was having headaches
thinking this is just another routine scan that won't show any pathology relating to the headaches, we were astounded wen we saw a massive tumour taking up most of the kids cerebellum (a part of the brain)... The images we obtained were horrifying
So my point is life is short and fragile, make the most of it, have fun and don't sweat the small stuff and kitesurf whenever possible...

Last year i lost my mum she had a glastaoma cat 5 brain tumor[i cant spell it],she passed away in 6 weeks.I guess i was allwayz just waiting for the doctor to say she was going to be ok, but it never was!.Everyday i think about all the faces i saw in the hospital, walking the corridors of the hospital to see mum.I see every thing in a different way now.For me there is no tomoz just today and when that ends i will live the next day.Do it now, dont say next week or next month or next year,thought i would share this with yas ride on!!!!!!!!

i have two kids and that made me cry, all the best to the family, thats not fair at all

I was tempted to say this when you first posted but it's pretty unproffesional posting that here. What if the parents were kiters and they logged on here?

They probably had to wait untill the next day or get another scan before the doctor dropped the news. Even if not seabreeze users they could inadvertantly stumble on your post googling symptoms etc

Also if there are any other sydney kiters who coincidently thhad a 9yo daughter having a scan i'm sure they would shxt themselves.

u r an absolute moron...how more unspecific can i be? there are tonnes of xray joints around the place, and tonnes of kids as well as adults being diagnosed with serious illnesses like the above every single day. Her anonimity was preserved... go fingerbang urself

Kitegirl i think your thread is a good wake up call. You can take allot in life for granted but reading things like your experience makes me look at my own kids and you realise just how lucky you are to have a healthy family. Finngerbang you need a dose of reality as i don't think any parent would have a problem with people discussing this and making people see that its a real and can happen to anyone. I am doing renovations for a lady in her late 30s at the moment who lost her husband 18 months ago to a Melanoma. She has 4 young boys to raise on her own. Enjoy every day and never take life for granted cause it could be one of us tomorrow.

Thanks for the great health promotion thread. Kiting or whatever makes you happy is the best cure to keep you going!

seize the day.....nothing better than that. if everyone could learn from someone's unexpected passing then there would proably be a lot more smiling.....charity...volunteering....less poverty....not so many people always trying to cut eachother down.

a friend's passing has inspired me to go for promotions which I was underqualified for...learn kiting..learn to surf.. book a cambodian holiday which consisted of some volunteer time...and soon take 6 months off to discover the world. People call me a frother but why the hell shouldn't i be so happy.
