I am planning a 10 day roadtrip from Townsville to Rockhampton in late June.

Does anyone have any info on Kiteing locations along the way.

alva hour south of townsville bowen mackay, yepoon tannum sands if you go an hour further south then rockhampton all sick spots especially mackay and tannum give awaken boarding culture a call or adrenaline in mackay

Giday Ian,
I agree with Tony,done the same trip July last year. Alva is a must, ring Matt Payne in Townsville he'll set you straight for Alva. Also make sure you get to Tannum Sands.All the other sites are good as well but leave yourself more time for Alva & Tannum.
You will need a bigger kite for that time of year as well.I used my 18 most of the time.On occasion I did get out on 10 and 14 but mainly the 18.(85kg riding 126 TT)

Thanks for the usefull info on spots and kite sizes. That should get me on my way.

I weigh 70 kgs and will take a 10/12/16.5

Can't wait.....

Also heard Lucinda -> 1 hour north of Townsville is a top spot. Anyone kited at there?
