Moving from "ripple city but really good wind in summer'" Perth soon and heading to Ulladulla, Sothern NSW. Going there for the surf but I just wanna know what the wind is like during the summer there.....

Are there consistent summer seabreezes come summer?

Any info regarding kiting in southern NSW would would be greatly appreciated.

I know about the sick waves in the area via wannasurf.com and mates that have been there, but if you have any info on the waves that would be appreciated also.....

Cheers

There's a few of us a bit further south around Batemans Bay / Moruya.
Haven't met an Ulladulla kiter yet.
Summer blows fairly reliable NE seabreezes 15-25 knots.
There's some magic spots there, green island at the entrance to lake conjola particularly.
Also got some bloody good pies!

heaps of good waves at ulladulla and further south, don't rely on wannasurf.com though...just had a look and they are going on about spots that either don't exist or are so woeful no-one would bother surfing them. Have a squizz at swellnet.com for some of the latest photos of local bommie action ...
and yeah, the summer NE's are sweet, but it's looking like a long, tragic winter for wind. For me anyway

ulla dulla a sick spot if you know where to go. first of all dont kite at molly mook beach cause the surf club hates it!!!! but if you head to narra wally which is about a minute drive from there, there is a sick beach with heaps of room to set up and if the swells up plenty of waves. And right next door to the beach is an inlet which goes off on a north east with flat water but be careful can be a bit gusty. and if you head south try and catch up with tobes he has some cool looking foil kites and doesnt mind letting people borrow them. Even if they are pissed and holding six cans of bundy at mambo he he. By the way think i have some good photo's of him getting to know a girl a bit better on the beach one night at mambo!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for all the info guys, much appreciated.

The place is turning out to be pretty sic, windy summer and swelly winters, and close to the snow!

One more question, does anyone know what the vibe of the town is like? Would you go stir crazy if the waves/wind is not on??

I guess your only a few hours away from two capital cities so there is always that.

Any advice would be awesome. cheers again

Ive been going down there to surf for the last 8 or 9 years. my parents have a house around there and I usually go down every big southly swell during winter. sorry not going to give you much about the waves. im sure you will find em . Getting heaps crowded these days. Easter sunday had about 30 cars at a certain point break. In winter though I can go 3 or 4 days of epic waves without seeing a single person in the water

Havnt been kiting for long but was down there the last 2 weeks and I was able to kite 5 out of 10 days.

Marlin hotel usually goes off on a friday/sat nights

Never seen anyone kiting but I usually go south of ulludulla.

Prepare!

So if you're living there during the winter, uncrowded pumping surf is a given?

Giddyup if it is!!!!

What wind strength did you get on your last trip? Good wave riding?

c'mon chop-slop...you still need convincing? there are about 200 spots between ulladulla and narooma that get awesome waves on their day,10 or so which might give you the best waves of your life - including arguably the best big wave spot on the east coast - (this is coming from pro's, not just locals) probably about 100 spots you could kite (with a max crowd of, say, 8 guys on a bad day) , two pubs which fill to the rafters every friday and sat night with lusty coastal wenches...and i haven't even started on catching marlin from tinnies, and day trips to the snow. Gets me all excited just talking about this area!
