Any thoughts on what to do with these. When I say old I mean over 2 years, as gears changing so fast that anything older than this seems to be almost worthless (especially big C kites). Seems a shame to bin them, but what the hell do you do with a kite/bag etc. Some thoughts:
- The manufactures can set up an amnesty, taking kites back and using for smaller kites.
- Give to some artist to make stuff out of.
- Hang on a wall like skis in ski lodges,
- Make a tent
- A hammock
- Put in a theme restaurant
Who knows, but I'm sure there's some use for them other than filling up my very small inner city shed.
Cheers

drop sheet for when you next paint your place?

or keep them for 30 years when there is no oil left to make them anymore, worth mega $$$ then!

Sell them on Ebay at their original price to someone too cheap to pay for lessons.

you could use the bag as some sort of object holding device
put a row of kites on a steep hill, water + soap=fun when no wind

Can you actually do that!! i would feel kinda bad though. However......it would be good buying a new kite not losing anything off th old one.

I heard about some crew making hand bags/dillies over seas.
Looked good, all fluro with a bit of the logo on them. You'd be the coolest tripper at a rave party too.

By the Pool Bean Bags.

WINNER!

Impress your friends when you tell them you paid $2200 for a couple of bean bags. Should be good for a laugh.

Good winds,

send em to WA, NT, for that matter Australia wide Aboriginal camps to use as motivation to get the kids on a new high... the high or stoke of kiteboarding... must be some communities on the coast with some super sporty kids... they're good at every other sport why not kiting!! I am in Europe nowadays and have been thinking about going to Kenya to do this there... when i left Oz i gave a kite to a Perth kite shop for free and it's now on their second hand list for $300 , i told them to GIVE it to someone who needed a big kite but had no coin... like a young up and comer!! The kites are often still A1 after 2 years so why chop em up? get them into the hands if new crew to keep the stoke alive... many young guys aint got the coin to get into the sport could do well with a 'hand me down'...

take to your local shop and and ask them to GIVE it to a grom in need!

Here some suggestions (I take no responsibility for anyone stupid enough to do any of these):

1) Cut a hole in it resembling a sharks mouth and arrive at your kitespot before anyone gets there, blow it up and leave it right where everyone rigs up to freak out the people blowing up their kites. It'll also guarantee you at least a couple of hours on the water alone before people get the balls to venture out.
2) Shred the tail of it and then walk out of the water holding it and telling people how it got shredded on a mystery reef. This works really nicely if you don't have a reef in your area because the guys will spend the next hour riding looking down and the water and not trying anything in case they land on it.
3. Leave it blown up on the beach, then when a couple of newbies are watching, take out a knife and cut the entire thing to pieces muttering to yourself constantly "That will teach the bastard to cut me off". I'm willing to bet none of them will get in your way for a long time.
4. Pick someone you really don't like, write their name and number on the kite, wait for an offshore wind and then let it blow out to sea. When the coastguard pick it up they will sh|t him out for not telling them he got back to shore safely and hopefully fine lots of cash for the search party.
5. Cut lots of small holes in the kite and tell other kites some person on the beach was taking pot shots at your kite with a rifle. Will encourage them to go elsewhere and leave the prime spot to you.

I do "kite art"...
I reycle EVERYTHING (easy to tell as soon as one walks in my place).
I use the canopy instead of cotton on my canvas frames, I make translucid lamps, I've once hanged my kite up the walls and used it as a diary, I make collages with torn canopy, ripped lines and various bits and pieces, I'm currently sitting in front of a table that's a destroyed kiteboard, I use old chicken loops as clothe hangers, the possibilities are endless! And that doesn't include the multiple options between massive tent for the camping trip, the shower curtain, the gift wrap (very stylish! With the rubbon around like on your freshly bought kite!), the table cloth, the motorbike cover, I mean, you can basically do with kite canopy ANYTHING you could think of doing with paper or fabrik.
The rest is just imagination...
How about launching a clothing line made of kite leftovers only... The bladder range could be interesting...

PS: Any addition to my current stock would be welcome! (Think I spotted an empty corner in my garage...)

I think I'm gonna start using my old Airush Lift (2002 15.4M) as a sunshade at the beach. Just gonna blow it up, anchor the tips and sit under it. I've seen it done a few times......better than getting burnt while you're sitting on the beach waiting for wind

give all your big old c kites to 150kilo plus people for a light wind kite. It'll solve the obesity problem in australia at the same time.
