Tried Vanuatu.. lucked out in july. Really nice place and cheap. Had two wks glassy conditions the whole time. Would love to go to tonga and samoa but real exp flights. researched all of those places, all great. Just need better luck next time. Bring surfboard and/or snorkling gear.

Do you think it was bad luck or just not that much wind there? The place looks fantastic but not any good without wind!!

Apparently the SE trade winds didnt arrive early enough, thats all.
If u do decide to go to van, check out tanna Is to see and climb the volcano. Was truly awsome and worth the extra couple $100. could sit up ontop of the crater's rim and watch and hear the exploding lava below.

At the risk of being called an intellectual, can I recommend you read a book called "Into the Blue" by Tony Horwitz - subtitled "Boldly going where Captain Cook has gone before"

Its a cracking read (Gromit) and will give an insight into the Ploynesian history pre and post Cook.

May give you some inspiration to do alternative stuff on the non-kiting days.
