Hi,

I have some spare time the next 2 weeks and since it is crap weather here in Cairns I just booked a plane ticket to Perth and will be in the area for 10 days or so. I plan to drive up to Geraldton (will a normal rental car be ok?).
I guess it makes sense to stay for 2 nights or so in Perth (?) and I have to book a hotel now (arriving tomorrow night).
Hotels on offer are at the CBD near Riverside Drive, Scarborough, The Sunset Coast/North Beach or in Mandurah. Where is a good and nearby area with good kiting conditions (I like flat water)? Please bear in mind I want to travel up north.
Thank you for any tips/hints.

Cheers

Normal rental car is fine for Geraldton.
Id stay in scarborough for the easy access kiting (no car required) rather than the CBD which is 20minutes by car from the beach. However if you like flat water youd be better off kiting on the river or around rockingham.

Thank you for your reply. Are there any flatwater spots around Scarborough?
I will pick up the car on my arrival anyway.

Hi,

Thanks guys.
Which river? Swan river? Where are kite spots there? There is a hotel near Riverside Road. Is that nearby?

Ouch!

What is the water temperature at the moment (Perth and Geraldton)? Everybody on the WAKSA website kites in neoprene...

Is there any hotel in the $100 per night range near the river you could recommend?

Too late but thank you. I booked a hotel already (not far away on Riverside Drive).
See you soon.

Frigging freezing here mate! Are you an Eskimo?
There is no way I would kite in boardies in these water temperatures!!!
Glad I brought my neoprene.

Can anyone recommend a hotel/motel in Lancelin and in Geraldton?
Something around the $100.00 mark per night.
Thanks heaps.
