Looks like it's a wet start to the day. Hopefully this wind is going to kick in and blow some of the rain clouds away, enough to give us a window oppurtunity before the real rain hits.
Mike - should be plenty of wind for you by the time you make it down there !

I watched for about an hour and left around 11.45. Well done to those guys that had the balls to give it a go and to the oganisers also. Dood on a yellow and red kite was ridin pretty much the whole time I was there and got some ok sections. A couple of guys on best kites, Waroo and Yarga I think were doin pretty well at times along with a couple of others (plain black kite and North Rebel I think)
As stated wind was reeeeal ****ty all over the place and gusty so most done great considering the conditions. Wanted to get some pics but it was too wet. Bring on the next one, can only get better from now.

I spent the w/e down south. Kiting was out of the question, a mere 6m swell and who knows how big faces, winds 40 to 60 kn. Gee, must be getting OLD, wasn't even tempted.
Wanted to do the swim through Canal Rocks though, but would have been thrown over the leeward side by the bigger sets. I hear that Nick the famous Gruz was tempted, having survived the last session there ...... just forget his budgie smugglers, so couldn't go out for the sake of decency.

Been busy at work sorry for late up date on comp. Sunday wave comp was a BLOW out. All riders hung about from 9am as a N/NE 15 to 22knot wind blew a cross off shore wind that was pretty much unridable until around 12 oclock. A few riders kept checking the ride-abilility BUT, it was super gusty with a really BAD under powered section from the shore line out about 60m from shore, we had lots of dropped kites as a result. The surf was pumping, with fantastic clean 4 ft surf every where. At 12ish the wind came in and shifted to a N/NW and picked up from a gusty 15 to 25 knots to 35knots, and in 15 minutes blew everyone off the water in a HUGE RAIN SHOWER ( I got slaughted on my 12m Kite - but sneaked into the beach just before the 40 knot rain storm hit)the wind then picked up to a consistant 40 to 50 knots. When I left the beach at 1pm it was hard to walk to your car, the wind SUPER SUPER strong. As Andy has posted stay tunned for the next wind and wave window. Wave comp 2 on stand by.
