Too much great wind.........I love WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA; but my elbows are killing me.......... despite 1500Mg per day. Hey Fity do you recon I need to increase dosage or ride less bow kite?

Going to love the comments on this one.

Nice kite save by Dan the Man at Saftey Bay yesterday Oh, those leashless kites.........**** happens.

Looks like golf today

Gas and Lurch...I'm up for both those kite treks, especially the Abrohlos one. I never saw a shark on that epic downwinder from Eagle....wasn't looking I guess. From talking to everyone, we must have kited over millions of the suckers. I did see lots of shadows though

hey nick i used to get sore elbows too the best fix i found was 2 buckets of ice water and 2 tablets of voltaren. take the voltaren and sit with your elbows in the ice water for as long as you can bear it just after coming off the water i found i only had to do it for 3 weeks but no more sore elbows. you could also try shortening your chicken loop or getting another harrness line so you dont have so much load goiong into your elbows.
have fun

Forget caps and tabs, get "Pretorious" brand powder it comes as a twin pack 100g in each bottle, one is Glucosamine and the other is MSN (can't remember what that stands for). It was recommended to me by a doctor in tahiti, good advice I have never had so little joint pain since I started on it 3 years ago.
I take 1 teaspoon of each powder dissolved in water in the morning, tastes like sh1t, but works better than anything else I have tried.
It costs less too, if you buy 3 packs at a time my local rip off (they must be making profit on me the b..strds)vitamin store sells 3 pack for $75, lasts me nearly 2 months.

Maybe you need a Powerlock, we have them in stock now so all Cab dealers must be getting them now too.

Thanks Damo and Steve, excellent advice, and Master Carbs of course(..you must have Google writen on your forehead).

I do know that ICE is the best quick healer and my Dad (who was an MD swore on anitinflames like Voltaren), and I'll have to get some of the new "mix"...on special at $30.90 AUD.

More dough selling drugs like this than kites maybe.

Hey Gruezi

Keep up the Glucasamine and the MSN as Steve suggested.

Ice is a good quick fix as it prevents any further internal swelling after a session.

Sounds like you may be riding with your arms too bent. I have a 16 Bow among my quiver and find that setting it up so that your arms are more extended reduces the dreaded Bow Elbow.

Also have incorporated a Spinlock Cleat into my bar. Allows me to just rotate my wrist backwards to lock the bar to the CL line in any position. Just rotate the wrist forwards to release it.

Works a treat.

SAAAAAA..... i need some time for my body to heal! Please no wind tommorow i beg you. Razorfish slice in my left foot (bit of duct tape can fix that from leaking),hunk of skin of my left toe from skim boarding, cut from my footstraps digging into me, and two more cuts from skimboarding on the back of my right heel.

WHilst i still can kiteboard it is extremely limiting and the more time i spend on the water the longer it takes to heal. Plz no more wind!

Send the winds up to Brissy mate! The winds here are like a yo-yo lately... Predicted 15-20 and not even 9 knots - that equals about 12 kiters sitting around waiting... and waiting... and slowly going home dejected...

Strange winds here lately... Just totally unpredictable... When it's good, it's darn good tho

Are you sure? This sounds the exact opposite.

Tennis elbow aka kiters elbow comes from over extension of the arms so that you are loading up your arm when its too straight. This means you are not using your bicep (it doesn't kick in until your arm is a little more bent)

I see a LOT of kiters around that have their bar way too far from their body. All of my elbow probs go away when I setup the bar so its closer to my body... they always come back on a new bar thats too far away.

mer what the I rode my 16 all day.
where is my sore arms ?
it must be in the setup my crossbow seems fine at standed settings
I am thinking it is if under powered maybe
I also ride with my hands close to the chicken if this helps and my arms are pretty much allways straight with just a little bend
not at the wrist though

Get some of that new stuff from band aid its like superglue for your skin and it is waterproof, you just have to keep the water out and stop the scab from being washed off. Tape is as well but make sure the tape will not pull the scab off when you remove the tape. Remove the tape and let the would air and dry after each session.
Keep losing the scab and bad things like sea ulcers and worse will happen.

Try to find the product I mentioned, and then compare the actual amount of Glucosamine and MSM - you will find that the Pretorious brand is up to several times the strength of any other available product. It is the most cost effective way to get Glucosamine and MSM in my searches.

Powedered form is best in my experience, the more a vitamin manufacturer "packages" a supplement the less you get and the more it costs!!
Guess what sort of retail business I had for several years before getting in to kites??

I dont think theres any chance of a scab forming each successive day kiteboarding is making it worse. another 18-23 knot day tommorow so im pretty screwed, well at least my foot is. When i fell off my board today i cold feel the water opening it up and the flaps of skin filling up. If i had a digi cam i would give ya a look.

Basically it is on the ball of my foot and it has sliced a 5cm long gash through the thick skin on my sole. I can see the flesh beneath now but i think it mst of stopped reasonably close to there as only the skin looks sliced.

Super glue ey... will that band aid stuff be able to fill the gash?

Hey Spacemonkey,

Superglue was popularised as a sort of instant band-aid in the vietnam war, held lots of soldiers together before anyone realised it could be used around the house. These days they've made slight variants of it that don't heat up when they cure, and are a bit less toxic, but apparently the household stuff isn't that toxic, some people use it. I think that band-aid stuff is the medical version.

More info here:

hmm wat is the liklyhood i will

a.) posion myself
b.) discover it doesn work
c.) create a nasty scar
d.) make things worse

Just from the smell of super glue i am a bit anxious in pouring it into an open wound. I think i will just huck it for one more day and hope the wind relents (for a few days at least )

hhmmm just looked at forecast

Gulf Waters:
Tuesday until midnight : Wind: S/SE 13/18 knots increasing to 20/25 knots during the afternoon and early evening with sea breezes. Sea: around 1 m, rising to 1.5 to 2.5 m with sea breezes. Swell: SW around 1 m on southern Spencer Gulf.
Wednesday : Wind: S/SE 10/15 knots increasing to 20/25 knots during the afternoon and early evening with sea breezes. Sea: around 1 m, rising to 1.5 to 2.5 m with sea breezes. Swell: SW around 1.5 m on southern Spencer Gulf.
Thursday : Wind: SE/E 10/20 knots. Afternoon sea breezes 15/25 knots.

Looks like im gonna have to hope for my foot to heal whilst kiteboarding.

There is a scab forming each day as the wound dries, it may not look like a big bloody scab, but it is still a scab, and each day you wash it out the sore/cut gets a bit deeper, and then you end up with a sea ulcer.
That super glue stuff really works, but tape over it, just put some glad wrap between the tape and the super glue, so that when you remove the tape after a sesh, the scab will not get pulled out of the wound.
You have to do this or be prepared to have that festering cut for a long time!
Good luck with it.
