Has anyone tried to re water proof a Kite? I resonantly got a second hand Kite and it seems to get water logged easier then my new one? (takes longer to dry / water doesn’t bead) I thought maybe you could Scotch Guard them or something like that. I know the best would be to not crash it but ** happens.
Any info much appreciated.

Gerard,
Go to a camping place and ask them for some silicone spray. This is used to waterproof clothes and tents for camping, should do the job here.
You may be able to get it at K-Mart as well.

I used a product called Nik Wax from a camping store. Its exe at $17 for a small bottle, I used it on rip stop nylon (foil). Works well as a water repellan, but the material now wont stick to double sided tape so repairs need to be stitched.

+1 on the silicone spray, used to use it on sail cloth for sailing so will be safe on kite. you don't need as much as you think either.

cheers for the info,
I checked out a camping store today and they had the silicone spray in a spay can or in bulk, not too x'y $10.00 for the pressure pack or $12.00 for a ltr of the stuff, which can be applyed with a air gun.
Thanks Gerard.
