Looks like plenty of names, too bad none of those showed up to the freestyle comp, quite a poor show. 24 people in opens, half of which were junoirs. I spose each to their own.

south brighton, pretty sure thats why we got an extra 2 hours each day, coz we are right up the beach and out of the way. its also the best spot along that whole stretch when you do a down winder so it'll be there

Due to work commitments, I wouldn't be able to get down there till just after 5pm. I suppose first round would be over by then?
How's my chances?

sign me up too. Andy Cooksey from SOS.

i don't want marginal conditions tho, so if you can pick the wind up a little that will be great.

I,m registering for what it's worth but looking at Seabreeze and isobar charts tonight looks like wind is a definite no show at the weekend, with an approaching low killing the isobars, so what alternative dates are available?

Yes the forecast is looking very sus , however it seems to be changing every 4 hours so anything could still happen . With that in mind we are having a meeting on Thursday night to decide what we will do .

Thoughts are ,to just run it and have a mambo style ,so that everybody at least gets some water time . That way we can just have a good day on the beach and pick the standouts for different things eg. best air
best wave
deepest barrel (ha)
best style
longest wave
ect

If the forecast improves we can still run heats .

Feel free to post your thoughts and ideas and we can consider them at the meeting .

Will put up all details on Friday morning .

Thanks
Mike

maybe some shops or sponsors could donate some demo LARGE kites for the weekend if the wind is crap. be good for us if we could do some lite wind kiting and also for the shop as they can promote their stoof.

p.s. ades, mite have to dust off that 18...

mambo style sounds ok if the conditions are average. if theres no wind i dont care as long as there is a little swell so i can bring the jet ski down for some whip ins

Due to the forecast , I think it is safe to say that anybody that turns up on the day is right to enter .

The main reason for pre rego was to work out heat times so we could get through everybody .

Still feel that we have a 50/50 chance on wind so might turn out ok .

Cheers
Mike

Looking at the charts I would say just about zero wind Saturday and Sunday, i would say about 10kts onshore Saturday and then a light northerly Sunday morning glassing off in the afternoon. It doesnt get much worse than that.

Makes the forecast for the weekend that was cancelled look really rosy now.

Unless people want to run it as a skimboarding event my vote says can we not just roll it on to next weekend??

Maybe we should all meet on Friday night and bring some old boards etc, dead kites to have a Bon fire with a ceremony making a sacrifce to the wave and wind Gods.

Call up the TV stations, guard of honour you know work out some thing with all kites pumped up on the beach in a row. Some one can say some words, walk down to the Bon fire light it, than have a wild party. -> ->

Hi Guys,
John Geyer here. Personally I'd like a chance for wind. If we have to wait for a winter storm I'll be there... why stress?
