WTF......an 8m tide...is that normal for that area??? The high tide mark must be about 1km from low tide.... any tidal surge into river mouths??? I know some places in the world where you could catch a wave up the river on incoming tide

Its also not unusual for tourists to leave their car and boat trailer on the beach then to return from fishing to find the car and trailer under 2m of nice clear salt water.

Hey Wormy,

It's not usually nice clear water, it's usually muddy. And it's not usually their car, it's usually a hire car from my experience And they're not out fishing, they're drinking at the closest bar, they just park on the beach because they can.
