Wello is pretty much no go in a S/W or W. Best directions are NE at any tide (flat water) through E to a SE (choppy) above mid tide. You can also get out in anything from the NW, N and S but the wind gets a bit gusty from the dead southerly as does anything from the NW.

Dont rig up, launch or land above the high tide mark and you'll be right.

If you got a set of rubber booties wear them, plenty of coffee rock out on eastern side of point below half tide. If you got the time go have a look at the area at low tide so you know what your up for. I've got some nice scars from riding wello at just above low tide on me and my board

Guys. Paulio is on the ball obviously.

Wello works in nearly all directions....

It's best in N'ly through to SE (Sly is a bit gusty but it does work if you work it right).
It also works N-WSW (SW is a bit gusty as well but it's hell worth it!)

If you intend on doing a walk or shame, walking upwind or falling off and can't hack your feet being ripped apart wear booties. Once you've been kiting there long enough you know the rocks areas and your feet can hack it.

When it comes to the Council regulations, atm it is set up ALL gear below the high side mark. That ALSO includes the beach on the W'ly side has to be below the rock wall.

Just talk to us when you're down there about what the go/no-go areas are etc. We're pretty likely to let you know before you ask anyway.
