If you use wet suit boots, how do you avoid them filling up with water when kiting?

I have thought about putting 'drainage holes' in them but I am concerned this will wreck the boots.

if you get a good quality pair then the fit will be tight enough that very little water actually ends up inside. I have the ripcurl one with an ankle strap and the camel toe and it works fine. (feeling the board through the straps and deck though is another matter...still prefer to kite without boots whenever possible).

not being a kiteboarder, I dont know the name of the move,

but

I would have thought you would just pop some air, and hang upside down until the water drains out

Thanks neoniphon

I have the same rip curl boots. It seems my issue is that they are not tight enough.

mine are oneil, they have a velcro thing at the top of them (goes around leg or ankle), i like it because it stops all water from getting in when you first enter the water.
it would be pretty easy to sew some velcro onto them if you think it would work.

Just loosen the straps
Having very "sensitive" feet (last time i got a reef cut, took ages to heal), I never kitesurf without booties, even in the middle of the sumer.
It is a matter of getting used to them.
You don't have to go for the expensive brand name, any way after a season you have to throw them away (the stink is awfull), however make sure they are snug fit to your feet.

Hi Silviu, hope you are well. I used to wear booties all the time, but find not so much if ever any more. However, I always have them handy just in case. Seems I just try and avoid the razors these days. I'll be taking them to Exy of course. Nice accessory to have.

Hi,
I am sort of OK. After a little lady driving a big four wheel drive full of kiddyes knock me of my bike: lots of damage to my "baby" out of action for four weeks, I ended with a large, red gravel graze on my knee, a disclocated shoulder and a big black bruise on my tight!
See, this is what happens when NO WIND.
Otherways OK, looking forward for this weekend, when Melbourne was "promissed" some 15 knots NW wind. May be this is the weekend
Hope you will have fun out in Ex.
