What can I say it all started on friday nw nice and strong all day water was flat and the local crew were out there.
Saturday saw the rest of the boys and girls who worked thursday get a chance to ride How ever the wind dropped off a little early. On sunday it was on again and The local caravan park tourists were loving the spectacle as 10 to 20 kiters ripped lofty big jumps loops spins and more through out the day. With te wind picking up as the day progressed.
MOnday and the public holiday brought another day of wind and a lot of peole from out of town. MOre non local than locals. The wind a little gusty as it swung from nw to wsw and squids unfortunetly claimed it's first kite of the season. A launch gone wrong and hung onto far to long saw a kite up top a tree. Getting it out proved to be costly to the kite I'm sorry to say. BUt a great day was had by the rest of the crews as peoplle made new friends and shared a great kite in sometimes trying conditions..
Look forward to more great wind and fun rding thrught out the summer..

hi guys
went to squids the other day just to check it out as i sail at belmont 16ft and like the idea of kiting on the lake
just a question the launch area seems small, is launching safely an issue when there is a lot of kites around?
cheers, mick

Mick, I also sail out the 16s along with quite a few kiters that frequent squids. Launching and landing is not usually an issue with everyone offering each other a hand, the biggest thing is if your not sure to tell someone so they can help you.
Obviously some people had trouble over the weekend with a couple of kites being caught in the trees.. I noticed on Sunday with the bullets of wind coming through which were from different angles it was a little sketchy at times, but it was still very safe if you take your time and have a someone waiting to catch your kite..
