Have a customer wanting to sell his rarely used Arcs.
a 640, 840, 1120. with 2 bars.

What's the going rate for these?

Thats a bit tough, they are good sizes for average weight riders.
640 - apprx $400
840 - Approx $450
1120 - Approx $500
Add $150 to each price if a bar is included.
Safety systems on the older arcs need to be checked. Rear lines need to be longer than fronts, or the kites need to have longer rear pigtails to fly properly.
"Wedging" and other mods can significantly improve turning and stalling tendencys of older arcs, easy to do, or you can contact Mr Float or Bob Dawson, or Kitepower to have it done.

PS - This could be misinterpreted by some people as an attack on Tony, Arcs, or even pink elephants, however it is not!

i think those prices are a bit high. i sold some s arcs a while back for ballpark ~100 less than those and id suggest the price would have weakened a bit further

i know of several g1 and g2's that sold recently for around that price

a buddy of mine might be interested in the 630 (typo in your post?) i'll get him to contact you

Possibly Jan, as they are getting dated, but they still work, the modern replacement is well over a grand in each case and Tony did say rarely used so am assuming they are in crisp condition.
They are in the end worth what someone is prepared to pay, and I would recommend the owner considers every offer.

Thanks,

It wasn't a typo just didn't know.
He said the sizes but my brain didn't take note.

He needs to get rid of the lot and was after around $1400.

I told him it seemed rich for what they were but I have no appreciation of non inflatables.

Anyway I'll pass on the info.

steve, exactly, worth what someone will pay... a lot depends on the type and quality of the bar and lines.

ral inn, fyi, just saw a 630 (that I know the history of) for sale for 250 out of a shop. its in near new condition and has a zip mod done to it and has a fairly old naish bar and lines... hopefully thats a useful comparison

Yeah, definitely a bit rich.

I think he'll find them extremely hard to sell. Most people who are willing to give arcs a go will go for the newer ones.

And even then I had trouble selling my Phantoms and Bomba. I ended up selling it over the flexifoil forum to an overseas buyer. Its UK based and there are heaps of foil flyers there. Best bet is to give it a try. Exchange rate with the GBP makes it a pretty good deal for UK buyers and Aust. sellers as well.

You could also try arcusers.

i'd tell him he's dreaming!! i just got back from a trip down the coast kiteflying and picked one of these little babies up for $100 complete from a car boot sale. they fly great but , time has taken it's toll on my gem.....(p.s needs a big repair after i was showing off to some young kids on a football field in coffs harbour and got tossed into some shrubs, the kite ended up in a tree! lucky the little boy i bumped over was not hurt so he ran back and got his dad to come give us a hand to retrieve my kite and bandage my leg)needless to say, i left coffs the next day....

Excellent advice from Victor here, he is a long term Arc flyer.
And Victor we found a harness and a bar and lines on the beach last night, I know the harness is yours, did you lose a bar too?
Its at the shop.
