I only work an hour a day, from 4 to 5 and most of the school are close to Cronulla so I only loose half an hour getting there and back or they just meet me at the beach !!
want a job? need lots of instructors business is growing fast.
@Alex Sanz: So when you teach 300 kids a week by working an hour a day, that comes to 40+ kids in one hour trying to do "kitesports". Must be very effective..
I am thinking Crane operators...Not bad $$$$ and whenever there is a bit of wind you have to stop working! Be out on the water!
Tried that and sitting on your ass all day is not conducive to a good arvo sesh. Plus cranes don't stop because the seabreeze has hit the coast. Having a kite shop seems to be working pretty well you just have to cut back on expenses
Your tools of the trade are always on you. You are your own boss. You have a huge hourly rate. You can work as much or as little as you like. You can do it almost anywhere, even at the kitespot.

im a crane operator/rigger and its not that crash hot if ur keen to kite all the time. just gotta plan a day off really well and hope the wind comes through.
I dont do it anymore but teaching would have to be about as good as it gets. - 1/2 of Dec & all Jan off. - at least 2 other 2 week breaks for trips during the year. and you knock off in the middle of the afternoon all year round.
the jobs i've worked kick ass for kiting. Worked at maccas for 9 years... shiftwork, graveyard, mornings (1pm finish). Now i work at nzpost as a postie... 6 days a week but 7am start and finish when you finish the mail (usually between 11am and 2pm).
SW hits east auckland usually at about midday (blows till sundown)... NE blows all day... sea breeze in summer hits in da arvo... frontal stuff hits whenever it wants to
