Hi

I'm new to the sport and have been learning using a seat harness which gives me wedgie problems as well as sore ribs occasionally - probably from being pulled 'up' a lot. I am thinking of switching to a waist harness. Is it OK to learn using a waist harness? or do I just have an ill fitting seat harness?

What do you recommend.
Thanks

Seat Harnesses are not meant to hurt your ribs. What brand is the Seat harness?

I have used a Vest Harness and found that it rides up and I lose my edge.

I have switched to a seat harness and found it is much better. If your not doing crazy tricks a seat harness is meant to be better. It lowers your centre of gravity and isnt meant to ride up to much.

I have heard the Dakine Seat harnesses are excellent!

Good luck!

Thanks Uber

I probably just have a badly fitting harness - I'll look into getting a new one.

Cheers

Hi have a Dakine Fusion Seat harness and it causes me a few problems - I think because I am a girl. It use to give me bruises just under my ribs but this has stopped now that I am getting better and don't have the kite at 12 so much.

I still find that the straps that keep the bar/hook in place need to tightened after a couple of runs though I cannot get them any tigher while standing on the beach befor I go out. Like I said I think this is because I am a girl and they are not made for girl shapes eg in at the waist!

I had a look for another harness but all the girl ones seem low at the back and dont have so much padding from the bar on the front.

Hey Sunseeker, Where abouts do you live? Some shops allow you to try them out and have a rope/chain from the ceiling you can hang on to see how it feels. I've got a prolimit seat and it likes to separate the "Frankanbeans" not comfortable at all when overpowered.

Snowman- did you know you can buy a Dakine spreader bar pad? It fits under your spreaderbar and costs around $25. Made a huge difference to the comfort for me.

Hope this helps!
