would you put fins on a snow board? NO !! why? because your using the edge of the board as a fin. Fins do not help, if your board has a concave it will feel just like you have fins when riding but a lot less resistance. So you go faster better upwind better performance from your kite and bigger more controled jumps.
But you do have to change your stance a little when riding.
no fins allow you to pick up speed on the skim so you can develop power and get going. It's very similar to a plane taking of on a run way. get going in very light winds
fins just dig into the sand and throw you onto your face!!!
Still don't undersand why board are made with fins still??? one day they will realize?
interesting you would make this comparison ...but you're right you can't actaually snowboard with fins at all whatsoever. snowboarding involves rapid transition turning edge to edge with a momentary moment when the boards p-tex is flat on the snow. early wintersticks had fins and thay were a real failure put a lot of people off snowboarding in the early days
however you can on the the water and because we can , we do. i've never had my fins dig into the sand yet. where are you kiting at anyway isn't the water very deep or something.
