If anything gets infected enough it will kill you. Heard of a person who died of a toenail infection because they let it go to far. Got leg amputated and still died.
No fins is the way to go, but its harder in straps since the board moves around more and comes off yer feet, but no problem in boots.
what ever works for you. I want to try boots. always looking for something new to me. If you see me on the beach we should swap boards.
