Hi there all.
This is my first time in here, I,m about to take up Kite surfing and am about to purchase some gear.
My problem is that I have been told by some to buy a bow kite and others say a C kite.
I have also been told that all 2005 Bow kite would invert but not so the 2006 Kites.
Basically can anyone inform me as to which direction to take who hasn,t got a vested interest in trying to sell me the gear.
I,m happy to pay for good gear I,m just not sure what is right, I,m 103 kg, I,m not sure if that makes any differance to my choice.
Regards Gary

hahaha the good'ol bow vs C kite debate. My 2006 diesel bow inverts but the depower is awesome. 6 of 1 and half dozen of the other really. I believe IMHO that bows are safer and I would recommend them to any beginner.

Hi Gary,

I have no monetary gain in anything you buy, but I feel that the best kite to buy is a Hybrid or SLE. It is a cross between the Bow kites and the "C" kites.

I have spent 5 seasons on "C" kites and a full season on the bow kites and after having flown the Hybrids, I can assure you the best performance in general is the Hybrid.

We have been flying the Airush "FLOW" kites which are hybrids. Flown sizes 14, 12, 10 and 7 and all are awesome and so easy to fly it makes learning ridiculous. They have the big wind range of the bow, but don't invert, have the performance and turning of a "C" kite and relaunch easy.

Check em out!

Good winds and welcome to the sport,

kurt

Waroo.
With lessons on the same before purchase.
I am a rep fyi though as kitehard is aligned with airush.
Agree with him on the sle option (like waroo).
Forget any of the bow kites with the pulleys on the bar imo.
Other options may be the boxer sle or new switchblade, but
around here the waroo is the most popular and by far the favourite.
Get a try on one if you can from your local dealer or rep.

Thanks for all the info guys, I looked at the 07 wahoo today and the sales person informed me that it was an excellent kite, and that because I will be learning on this Kite from the start I will not experience the change from C to Bow that others have found, apparently a liitle awkward.
I,m about to take the plunge I hope I,m buying the right one...oh now I have to pick a colour..lol
Once again thanks..

i started on a C kite, stayed faithful to Cs through 3 seasons.
i now ride a waroo (and love it - even though like ALL kites it has its pitfalls).

I have had 2 minor accidents since being a noob - nothing broken/serious. I can honestly say if i was on a bow they wouldnt have happened - thats not to say that you wont have an accident on a bow, just my experience.
