you were on the beach with your kite in the air, talking to your mate about the conditions, also with his kite in the air, when suddenly your 12m flies inbetween your mates 17 m lines?

The kites are now at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock.

So, what to do next?????

Ian, you were at Wello on Monday? Sounds like the exact same story another guy was telling or just a huge coincidence lol ...

Just hope for the best that they come apart as easily as they came together, and remind yourself where your quick-release and safety is

throwing your bar away before he has time to react is always the best situation for me, i just sit back and watch the carnage unfold.

You can normally fly out of most colisions... If things get hairy 5th line works a charm has made something that potentially might of been session ending and 4 hours of untangling into a 30 second crash and relaunch.

No Elizabethb, I was at the Pin on Monday so there was plenty of buffer space in the event that it all went to custard.

It happened that quick and this is what we did without thinking about it much. (lucky it was blowing a mellow 15knots WNW)

We were standing about a 1.5 to 2m apart.
My mate on the 17m brought his kite low to the water at about 2 to 3 o'clock.
My kite was at 10 o'clock. (over the beach)
I then climbed over and inbetween my mates lines. (they were low to the ground as his kite was at 3 o'clock)
All over with no problems.

Initially I thought of trying to fly my kite back through his lines but that was going to be a lot more difficult and risky.

In retrospect I should of unhooked before walking through his lines, and if anyone was to jetison the kite it would have to of been me with my kite inside my of my mates lines.

Anyway hope this does not happen to anyone while having a yarn to another kiter. Just remember to keep your kites away from each other.

say as fast as you can, "LIE DOWN" then just jump through the middle of their lines.
Now that you have done this, run down wind and skull a beer. Skull it fast dont be lame no pinky finger drinking here, then run around a cone race back and do this again and again till your pissed, off your rocket pissed, until you fall over laughing.
Or you could just cut his lines and run away, this idea is not so good if he is big.
You could also do the above but just pass your bar through his kite

Me I am going for this option, to stay the hell away form u 2
thats the band of cause as you guys rock, yer! You hard core crew.

had to edit some spelling and §hit as usual.

Always check your lines after an incident like this, it does not take much contact to cause a weak spot in one of the lines, losing a rear line is not a lot of fun either.

Glad it all worked out without any carnage.
