Hi All,

Just wondered if any of you lot have any thoughts on what the best high aspect kite of 2012 is. Prefer to be 4 line, purely for ease of relaunch.

Have been told Slingshot RPM, Ozone C4 and Hadlow ID are up there but would really like to know what you guys on the water think.

What I'm looking for is a serious high boosting kite, not really floaty jumps, but also something that is good for a wave session or too.

Thanks in advance.

Inorbit.

um.... you dont want a high aspect kite for waves. ps the c4 is medium aspect. thats what your explanation is calling for. c4 does what you ask. boosts at the top end of its range. bugger all float, sweet in the waves. i run the 10m in 20-30 knot range and i'm grinning like a school boy whose just found a stack of porn mags.

now if you wanted insane high aspect and insane glide..... flysurfer speed 3. 20 knots on the 15m and your gliding long time.

There are a lot of kites that are going to match your requirements, each very different in every respect. High jumping and good in waves is fairly generic. The question is do you want it to loop? Do you want to unhook?

For example, the Rebel is one of the best jumping kites I've tried this year, that said, its a freestyle kite and very different to the C4 which also matches your criteria.

Dude there is NO one single kite that has everything your asking for .... and anyone who says there is - is full of Crap

A high aspect SERIOUS jump kite will always try to rip you off a wave face...

Kite technology is becoming very refined and specialised if you want to wave ride = wave kite, boost huge = high aspect jump kite, fast turning kite, pivotal kite rotoation, continuous pull BLA BLA BLA

So you see your question should be 'whats my local conditions that I realistically ride in and am I skilled enough to use the kite effectively ???

sounds like huge jumps are your priority

why not buy a serious jump kite and a serious wave kite - then you wont have to put up with all the Crap from 'Bitsa' kites like the above.............

While i do agree withe the above i switched to the cab drifters this year purely for riding waves. When i sent it the other way for the first time i got a shock at how high it boosted me. Id come from Rev2s(little floatier) for a few years and before that a cab omega(boosty, floaty).
There is little float in the drifters and i think their very pretty.
I ride a nine up to 20kt then a 7 after that. 65 kilo.

ozone edge if you want big boost high aspect ratio.... just got the 9m and beautiful to loft and glide, fast upwind speed but obviously slow to kite loop. Can't have everything in one kite without some compromise.

It's impossible to kite waves with high aspect kites.

North fuse ,high aspect 4line kite or if your racing north are bringing out various sizes in the dyno in a couple of months , these things are super high aspect.

Haaaa you guys make me laugh

My 2011 9m Epic Screamer jumps very Nicely too - I lent it to a friend and the best he could manage was about 3 foot of Noob air and he was happy as hell

Then I went back out and did some arm wrenching 50 footers but was more impressed by his 3 foot stoke

I like how it can be fun regardless of whos kite jumps can jump the smallest
