Am sitting here with massive pain from stingray slash in my foot.....

found the perfect secret spot 1 hr ago... solid wind, no-one around while the other spots had crowds. Set-up. Stoked. launched. Immediately found there was serious turbulance problem- kite was up, then dropped out of sky, then hooked on gust, up with vengence, then dropped out of sky again...... trod on sting ray or something as bad. f'kn painful as... ditched kite... drove home passed the crowd which had whitled done to one diehard...

anyone else had secret spots gone wrong?

I hope you had the wound checked out? You can get nasty infections from marine animal wounds. I strongly advise seeking medical advice whether you think it is minor or not.

I feel your pain mate,I had a Stingray barb go strait through my wrist at the base of my thumb muscle and pop out underneath on the other side back in march this year. most painful thing I have ever had ! I was very lucky not to bleed to death .severed some nerves.now I cant feel the top of my thumb or wrist.
there not agressive but dangerous all the same.

Went to our usual one day to find a pole comp so we moved to a spot we had looked at but never needed to use. After watching a mate go up and down and then up and down and then just down we all decided that maybe the headland was having an effect and packed up. Had to wait ages for said mate to wander back up the beach Moral: Get a mate to go first

Looks like a fairly light wound to start with. I would say that he developed tissue necrosis! Yes, the tissue starts getting eaten away!

I remember waking up in the middle of the night and my wound went from a small swollen lump to a thumping red hot balloon. I was lucky there was no bone infection!

Hey Jfree10... good plan, i'm just running low on mates to send first

Rhinoman, tell me when your chippy's done, I've got my wah-mublance on stand by for the first bridge crossing

Seems i've been lucky with the stings, dodged the necrosis bullets so far
