I was at botany bay the other day and witnessed this : A Russian or eastern european guy arrived with his girlfriend. He put on his wetsuit, and sat down munching a sandwich his girlfriend gave him out of her picnic basket. In the mean time SHE proceded to pump up his kite, lay out his lines, and then double check them. When she was done she called over to him. Finishing his sandwich, he got up and wiping the crumbs from the sandwich from his face walked up to his perfectly lines up bar , picked it up , and let her launch him. He then went out on the water for a session, whist she sat admiring him. She was also very attractive.
It could be her way of having the upperhand. Just think when he gets caught doing something he shouldnt. she can keep quiet then carefully lay his lines out pump up his kite launch his kite all as she normally does but comforted in the fact that his left front line is connected to the right rear leader, the right back line is connected to the middle strut ( somehow ). Then while he is being dragged or is hung up in a tree she can interrogate him regarding the other woman.
They're Slovakian and very nice people. She kites too but was not going to that day so..... Anyway he works and she doesn't so she gets to kite more than he.
I guess that's why you get a wife/girlfriend that does what you do for 100% compatability.
A couple friend of mine both kite and when she's not going out she'll send him to the beach with snacks and drinks, will take photos and launch/land him if needed.....it rocks and the favour is always returned.
Sadly both my boyfriend and I are as keen as each other to get out on the water whenever it's windy so we just focus on sorting ourselves out.........the closest we get is taking it in turns to go get snacks/drinks between sessions, he launches me (I've yet to learn the self launch!) and I'll take photos if it's a wave session.
