Hey Seano,

Wanda is good in a Southerly if you like waves. Sans Souci is great for blasting in small chop but it is very onshore and there is little to no beach there at high tide. In dead southerly, launch at Sans Souci (Riverside Drive) If it is high tide launch at Mick Moylands Point, and ride upwind to the Pelican Point marker at the entrance to Woolooware Bay. At mid to low tides a sand spit appears for a couple of hundred metres into the bay perpendicular to the wind and you get beautiful buttery smooth water of the lee side. It is rarely ridden because there is no peanut gallery to show off to, but it's the smoothest water in all of Sydney.

Another good spot is Quibray Bay at Kurnell off Bonna Point. As long as you can stay upwind you ride back and forth across the mouth of Quibray Bay, usually a pretty fun spot with smallish chop. It is offshore though, if you go past Bonna Point (next stop Brighton Le Sands).

You can ride Brighton Le Sands but the chop is huge and the beach is small at high tide and wind onshore, and you must stay South of the Novatel Building. Do not fly between the Novatel and the Airport.

Other great spots are the south side of the point at what locals call Boat Harbour inside Merrys Reefs but you need a 4WD.

Windang is one of the sickest spots to go and ride waves in a southerly and is about an hour south of Sydney.

You could also try Longreef which works in a Southerly to SE. That ought to keep you busy for a while.

Oh and ther's also Dolls Point in a South Westerly, a little known secret spot that has good tidal assistance when the tide is running against the wind. Rarely crowded and the safest place in all of sydney. Bring a few mates along so you wont get lonely!

Have fun, and tell 'em Kitehard sent ya [}:)]
