Ok here goes.

• I am after a new kite.
• I am 105kg.
• I ride a 135 x 42 twintip and a surfboard (strapped and unstrapped).
• I want a kite that has me powered at 20 knots on my twintip and is reasonably comfortable at 30 knots (as in ok to boost big!)
• I am after a Delta, I have flown a Bandit Dos and a Wainman Smoke and I like the grunty feeling and the smooth turning particularly on the Smoke.
• I Freeride, ride waves and am looking to do a bit of wakestyle.

So far I have been looking at the following kites.
• Bandit III (10 or 11m)
• Core GT (9 or 10.5)
• Wainman Smoke (I think I might be underpowered on this at 20 knots)

I would like advice and peoples experiences of these kites. In terms of wind range, low end and high end and stability. I am particularly interested in experiences of people my weight, but if you weigh less then please state this. I don’t need to get going in under 20 knots on this kite, I have another kite that will do that for me.

Cheers

Hey ladies, I am struggling a bit with the size recommendations here, i am 88 kg and I had a Dos 10m and felt that only after 25knots I started to get a bit over powered if I was on the last knot and trim almost at the end......
The B4 is supposed to have a better wind range so wouldn’t a big Bomba like vipar need 12m at least especially on a 135 TT.

yeah viper...I have wainmans... the smoke and the 7mtr gypsy...I'm 68 kgs...the smoke is great 15 to 25 on the middle knot I could go stonger winds if I rigged it on strong wind knot and trimed it a little but I prefer to change down to the gypsy...I think at your weight you would be better off on the 12mtr boss...great kites though.

+1 for the Griffin Argo Delta, I'm 95kg and ride the 9 & 11.5. 10M is a also a great kite, however for us bigger boys the 11.5 is good for 16-20kn, and drop the line extensions and good for 25-28kn, after 28-30kn Starting to become a handful, however to be comfortable a 10M would be better for the 20-30 range maximum, though at 30kn, you really need another kite...even at 105kg a 8m would be much more fun, better for surf, jump big as super quick.....

Griffins are gay although threadjacker makes perfect sense minus the griffin comment.

Wainman's are the go..

If you have already rode a smoke and know what they do then why bother asking retorical questions? Theyre handling speaks for themselves....

I'm with mr float and his delta suggestion. Nice work bro.

If you go the Core GT, on your 42cm wide board ,you will be overpowered on the 10.5m.

I'm 84Kg and basically I ride:
9m GT - In basically nothing (12knots) to 25 comfortable
7m GT - 15 knots to (most I have been out in is 34Knots) - Amazing boosting machine.
Can't recommend either of these two highly enough!

The Core GTS seems a little less so if you go that option the 8m would probably be about right. The 7m GT is the boosting machine though when you are 25+

Pizzoff pimping your silly delta bow school kites.

Get a real kite (C shape direct connected) and get over bridles.

Hey guys thanks for your advice so far,
I should mention that I have a 15m Delta that takes me from 13 -20 knots so this kite would be sitting above that.

I want a kite with a little bit of overlap with the 15 but will give me good high end.
I am concerned that if I go for a 9m there will be a gap between the 15 and the 9.

I am 88kg and ride a Sling Shot Rally 12 meter. I have found it to be very stable up to 27 knots so far and didn't feel out of control at all. I would say a 10 meter would be the pick for you. I would highly recommend you demo one before you buy anything.
