Where do you launch? A syringe disposal dump? I didnt even know Logan had a beach. Im not doubting you but I never heard of anyone pop an LE on a stick. Pretty unlucky really.

+1 for a Wipika learning experience, being dragged through the mangroves by a 15 meter Hydro circa 2002, also no real off button on that ole kite, and then getting going and wondering how the hell to stop the whole process from continuing, those were the days......

I hate it how everyone always goes on about "learn to self launch and land" like it is some amazing skill, any intermediate level kiter can or should be able to self launch and land but why would you if you have readily available help?

Even just the small amount of wear and tear from your kite dragging across the sand, shells, sticks or whatever is there is enough reason not to self launch if you've got a willing bystander.

If somone gets annoyed at you for asking for a launch or land they need to pull there head out of their ass and try to remember they actually came to the beach to have fun!!

Yep I agree if there's someone around why not , I offered to launch someone and they declined like I insulted them but laughed my arse off as I saw him from the corner of my eye face plant and get dragged 20 metres up the beach -nice one mate

Yes I've had people decline my offer to launch but why??
Also people who try to self land by just slamming their kite down right in the middle of the rigging area without ever requesting a land, there is no need

Seems more like city attitude to me.
Get out of the metro area and learn to chill a bit

I treat others like they treat me, gone are the days I would give a friendly wave since people dont wave back.
This sport has gone to the dogs, Ive had a gut full and Im out after 15 years.

I always wave (if there are less than 10ppl on the water). If some dick does not wave back who cares... Treat others with respect and a friendly attitude will go a long way. The bloke that refuses to launch and land others knows he's a dick and probs feels pretty bad about himself anyway. Never had any problems in the city.

I've popped the LE of a brand new switchblade (back in 2012) self launching on a sandy beach. Found a tiny shell less than 1cm big sticking out of the fabric. But that kite had a really cheap, thin LE material. I don't think it would be as easy with other kites these days.

I already said it somewhere else. Be thankful, they actually pinpointed themselves as jerks, gives u a target to hit some1 for no reason when u angry or a subject to ignore and stay away from. Depends on what kind of person are u.

Next time pull hard on 1 steering line behinds his back when he is about to waterstart if it will make u happy.

Jerks, jerks everywhere.

It's the board shorts that make kite surfers special

A wise man once said to me. Always judge someone by the way they treat people , that they have absolutely nothing to gain from.
