I am no doubt sure this question has been asked and answered about a trillion times.

Can someone please tell me some good places to Kiteboard in a SW and a NW. I live near Dolls Point so somewhere within a 2 hr drive North or South would be OK. I would prefer a lake, or a place without waves.

Well you actually have two spots relatively nearby

SW = Boat Harbour near Kurnel. (Turn off into 4wd park, $15 entry, you don't need a 4WD but expect a 100m walk if you don't)

NW = Kurnel. Bit sketchy with rock groins but it works and there's plenty of kiters there.

Otherwise you can drive up to the central coast and look for Squids Ink(Swansea), Picnic Point & Canton Beach for starters.

SOuth West is also doable at Dolls Point in a run in tide and also at Brighton in front of Long Reef Sailboards, but no further north than the Novatel. Cronulla, at Wanda is also excellent.

Have fun

Kurnell is doable in any wind direction bar East. Anything with W in it is super gusty and **** though, most people who ride out there in these winds are just desperates who need a fix. I heard that there's somewhere up the coast around the newcastle area that is much better in Westerlies than anywhere Sydney has to offer. If you find somewhere that isn't crap to ride in westerlies be sure to tell the rest of us

PS. If your a beginner don't bother with Kurnell, I've written a post before on here, should be able to find it on the next page or two.

I imagine that's Squids Ink, near Swansea. Works in a NW
