Right now, at Kwinana (right on the beach at BP) the wind is blowing 20knots plus from the SW, and smooth as.

But the graphs are all reading around 10, gusting to 15 knots.

I know it's 20+ 'cos the wind sock is standing at a perfect right angle to it's post!

Is it just a local thing going on? Garden Island is yet to be updated - maybe it's channelling the wind thru COckburn Sound. MAybe we're just having a long gust?

Wonder what Woodies is doing? Unfortunately you can't kite off the beach at BP - only for shipping.

Lord jesus, come & save me. i'm at work like the godforesaken rest of us, and some bastige is on the beach, with the wind in his hair!! Some people know how to twist the knife on a Monday!

If any wind meters/ beacons are accurate I'd be surprised!

If you're kiting spot isn't sheltered at all, and the beacons give a true reading for your spot, thats great! :) But if your kiting spots sheltered in any way (or most directions) and the wind at your spot reads totally different to the beacons results, 'tis no fun lol....

Your probably right azza! Alhtough I saw 2 kiters at Woodies on the way home - can't have been fun though cos by the time I got to freo it was **!

Many a time I've seen the spitfire channel beacon reading over 15 knots, loaded up the car and raced over to Bribie surf side to stand on the beach and wonder why it is only blowin 8 knots.

It's a conspiracy developed by the BOM and government to send us all crazy, give up kitting and take up a some socially responsible activity ......

They won't take me alive I tell you...[}:)]

Many a time I, and others, have sat and waited for the promised BOM winds to arrive... it's a conspiracy I tell ya'! They're definitely after our sanity!
