Just came up to Perth for a bit of a kiting holiday, went down to woodies to suss it all out. Left the car for seriously about 5 minutes as we ran up and checked out the beaches, as I came back there was a guy trying to break into our hire car. We saw him and then instantly started yelling and running towards him. He quickly crabbed something hard and smashed through the window and stole my mums hand bag which unfortunently had tons of stuff in it because it was the first day of holidays so we just went to the bank earlier to withdraw money ect, and then drove away before we could reach him.

The guy was driving an Old Red commodoore, around about a VN model. Short, skinny, with brown hair. So if you see this car around the woodies carpark just beware. If you do see a simular car would be a great help if you could txt me the licence plate no, and we can send it to police.

My no is, 0414780779.

Lucky the kite gear was hidden in the boot!

Justin.

That sucks man, but its nothing new. Woodies is a break in hot spot, never safe especially in winter.

That’s bloody unlucky mate! dont leave anything in your car! Put your car keys in your harness. I even caught some scum dog sniffing around my kite bag! You’re safer on the water with the real sharks. Thanks for car information.

Sorry to hear that Justin, what a rude welcome to our beautiful state of WA.

Recon that Woodies is getting hit by local mobs who repeat. If all us kiters with cameras handy take photos of suspicious looking cars and people, we'll either discourage them or nab one eventually.

I've already got one license plate number written down.

They will probably steal the cameras, lol. I don't know what the solution is really, I know this is going to sound contreversial but a fair proportion of tourists get hit. Then there is locals that never get hit.. I dont know.. Need a hidden video camera or something It really sucks.

yo lets form a lynch mob and ride 'em out of wood-town. Then we'll throw a bar 'n lines over the nearest tree at high noon.
It's the woodies "Kiters Kill Kar-theives". Our Grand dragon is Buzz and Poor Relative is our hard man. Carbine and toby are our noms and do most of the dirty work eg. setting fire to the offenders car and throwing bricks through their car window when they try to drive off at high speed.....
Did I mention I need some wind........

Setting up a hidden camera taking shots every 10 seconds would be a good option. If the shots are high enough resolution you could easily pick up plates and faces for the police to use.

I hate criminals, spawn of this earth. I say hook them to a 2001 16m C kite with no quick release and launch them in 40 knots. Then take video footage so people can finally start showing something other than tophat. Better yet, launch him near an airport so we have some legit footage of someone getting taken out by a plane.

It may not be our job to judge them, but I'm happy to arrange a meeting with his maker and let him judge them.
