From the Naish Mail out:

Speed Kiters in Namibia are inching ever closer to the outright sailing world record. The record, held by former Naish Windsurfing team rider Finian Maynard, is set at 48.70 knots. Current Naish Kiteboarding team rider Manu Taub was clocked this last week at 46.98 knots over the 500m course. That average puts Taub at #3 all time in speed sailing. Taub is sitting at #2 in Namibia right now with the leader at 47.77 knots; a mere .93 off the record

I guess it wouldn't be a bad thing to point out that this is also the second fastest time over 500m.

Check out www.sailspeedrecords.com/ there's a whole heap of different records.

Yeah it looks like the record will be broken on a Naish Sigma series Helix kite, which felt like the fastest inflato I'd ever used from that first session back in winter!!
That place looks insane for speed runs!!

Well that will say something about the New FONE Bandit. Looks like a cool kite in the all black and gold writing.

Wasn't trying to pimp Naish so don't take the post the wrong way. I was just pointing out the world record is with in reach. Though when it comes to speed sailing that last knot seems to be the hardest.
