There are people out there that swear by wacky shapes. The bandit was kinda wacky when it came out and now its so cool everyone is making a bandit shape kite (Best, Takoon, North etc).

Personally I found the sigma's decent, but they were slower than cancer. The alliance turned fast but had no bottom end. You could take the 12m out in 35 knots but what's point when I can fly a small faster kite anyway?

The point would be that not everyone wants a kite in high winds that's twitchier than a terrier puppy on crack. Besides, the boosts from a 12m kite in those winds..... well, let's just say that now I'm thinking about it, I need some alone time.

i saw a IDS switchblade invert into the shape of a bowtie. it ended up doing copter loops into the surf, tearing into its death. bloody cabrinha

Well then Arsa maybe you can explain why the 08 Rebels did not do this and the 09's flap around like a seagull without a head.Maybe it has to do with a thing called a centre strut.
Remember those crappy Cabrinha Contra's I lost count how many times the stitching was coming off on the leading edge and the poor quality of materials Cab used let alone the kite was a pig in the air as well.

Not sure of the criteria you guys are applying here, but some of those choices may have some very dubious reasoning.

"early Liquid force kites" were simply the year before Wipika designs, so to can the 2 line LF was saying the same about the Freeair, and their first 4 line was an Airblast.

"Wipika Classic" why bother putting that on a list it was the first and without peer when it came out. Doesn't that make it the best?

The Wipika NSK "tarp" kite was an attempt to get a near indestructible kite for the use of schools only and should never be thought of as a kite for general sale. for sure they were utterly unflyable for nearly all people and conditions and that was the end of them. but is that really what this thread is aiming at.

I think some are just trying to put in a big list V's a real list.

But for those that might know. the Eclipse Chamelion should be on the list.

there was something I saw once called a Champion kite and made of mono film, that should be on the list. and the LINK gets my vote as the biggest botch up due to over eager release dates.

Lets be honest, all kites have there pros an cons but how many of the manufactures
will give you a replacement if it is a dodgy friday kite.

So what model an year Best kite are ya talking about anyway ?
I have owned every model waroo since 06 an have very few complaints

I haven't used that many kites but by far the worst I could ever imagine was the early model cabrina black tip when it first came out around 01. The bladders all were shocking and fell apart in less than 6 months or so. They seemed fine at first, and a bit of a novelty not having to choose between wikis and naish, so I passed a few to a mate. Then shortly after they all started just falling apart. A few places exchanged the bladders over but a lot of hassle before then. Especially if you had just gone on a kiting holiday with a bunch of them with no shops nearby. Disaster kites.
