Just started kiting and looking to buy some gear.
There is an X3 for sale that I was considering but read somewhere that this is not a good kite for beginners.
Is this true?
Also, how limited would a Naish TT 5'2" be? I dont want to get a board that i will need to sell again in a few months
Cheers

IMHO definately no - go low aspect.
May only be necessary for a short time but will save you a lot of frustrating time wasting getting up & running.

i gotta say that id take an x3 over a 3-4 year old kite any day, but a medium/low aspect kite will help the learning curve
you will likely sell the board again, the naish tt's sucked (imo)

10 or 12m is ok, X3 is ok for beginners, wont overfly or fall back

DONT get naish TT they are total ****, have never heard or read a good word about them
i know some one who had one and when changed, suddenly found going upwind wsnt all that hard!!
plenty of other much much better options
X3 not so sure but it is a good kite, boxer or boxer 2 imho more sensible option at newbie stage (airrush flow, best yarga other suitable options)

I started on a Naish 174cm TT and... it really does suck! I still have it and put friends up on it when I'm teaching them. It's great for the first 3-5 sessions, when they're underpowered and not going to go upwind anyway. After that (normal to overpowered) it's a monster: won't carve, won't edge, it just picks its own line and goes faster and faster until you wipe out.

Thanks for the help
Not what I wanted to hear about the board though which sucks because there is only really a choice of a 5'4" mutant or a 5'2" TT second hand over here at the moment.
Would the mutant be any better or just a crap as the TT.
I was hoping to get a board a little smaller coz I already surf and windsurf and have found the riding not too difficult....so far anyway, but what should i be looking at?
